While West is no stranger to controversy, this move does seem a little bold considering how closely affiliated he is with the three Stripes.
Kanye has worked with adidas since 2015 after he left Nike in 2013, claiming he wasn’t given enough creative freedom to do his own thing. since then, the rapper and the German sportswear brand have successfully created an empire, offering up one of the most successful sneaker collaborations ever.

Due to this partnership, Kanye has practically never been spotted wearing anything other than his own designs since then, which would make perfect sense. We’ve got no further information regarding why he was wearing the aforementioned Nike Vandals, however it’s also worth noting that he was wearing a full-face covering that appears very visually similar to the Maison Margiela masks that the rapper wore for the entirety of his Yeezus tour.
Kanye completed the look with a bright-blue puffer jacket and black straight-leg trousers, which admittedly he must have been hot in, considering weather reports state it was 26 degrees Celcius in LA over the weekend.
